Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of weddings does Kasia officiate?

Any kind, big or small, formal or informal, indoor or outdoor, full ceremony or elopement. Your marriage can be customized according to your wishes so that the ceremony is most meaningful to the couple.

Can the ceremony be in another language?

Yes. If it is one of the languages that Kasia speaks (English, Polish, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian), text in that language can be incorporated. For other languages, an interpreter will be required.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes. You can also add any cultural rituals or symbols that are important to you. This would be discussed in advance in order to plan the ceremony.

What is required for a marriage to be legal in Alberta?

You will need a marriage licence and 2 adult witnesses. There is no requirement for a ceremony. However, there are two statements that the couple must repeat verbatim in order for the marriage to be legal.

Where do we get the marriage licence?

At any Registry office. The document is valid for 3 months. Once you receive it, give it to Kasia so she can prepare the paperwork.

How long is the ceremony?

About 15-20 minutes, unless additional elements or rituals are incorporated.

How do I book Kasia’s services?

Contact Kasia at knoworyt@shaw.ca or 403-390-4795 to determine availability. Unless it is a quick elopement ceremony, I like to get to know the couple through an information meeting before the wedding. In order to secure the date, a deposit of $150 is required.

If you have more questions, please contact Kasia at knoworyt@shaw.ca or 403-390-4795.
